Prior to attending law school, Mr. Silverman earned a Master of Business Administration from the DePaul University Graduate School of Business in 1995. He then earned his law degree with honors from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 1998. During law school, Mr. Silverman earned a judicial externship with the Honorable Joan B. Gottschall, United States District Court Judge for the Northern District of Illinois. Mr. Silverman joined the firm as a first year associate in 1998 and became a principal of the firm in January 2004. In addition to writing numerous court pleadings and legal briefs, Mr. Silverman co-authored the chapter entitled "Representing the Secured Creditor and Adequate Protection" published in the 2006 edition of the Illinois Institute of Continuing Legal Education's treatise on Business Bankruptcy Practice.
Mr. Silverman dedicates his area of practice to complex insolvency matters, including: representation of debtors or creditors in bankruptcy proceedings; workouts with lending institutions on behalf of lenders or borrowers; forbearance agreements; liquidations; collection disputes between commercial entities and/or individuals; assignments for the benefit of creditors; and general commercial litigation. Mr. Silverman has also passed the Arizona Bar Exam and has been licensed to practice law in the State of Arizona since 2001.
